* EPA honors Mack Trucks, Inc. for greenhouse gas reductions

Lehigh Valley,PA,USA -The Trucker News Services -9 Oct 2008: -- Mack Trucks, Inc. was recognized today by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for the company’s success in reducing greenhouse gas emissions throughout its operations. Mack was honored by EPA at the annual Climate Leaders Partners Meeting in Chicago... In 2004, as part of the Climate Leaders program, Mack pledged to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from its operations by 20 percent per unit produced by 2010, using 2003 as a base. As a result of implementing numerous energy efficiency projects, in 2007 Mack not only met, but exceeded its reduction goal three years ahead of the 2010 target date... * USA - Mercedes Benz tops heavy-duty engine survey

USA -eTrucker -8 Oct 2008: -- Mercedes Benz ranks highest among heavy-duty engine manufacturers in satisfying customers with vocational trucks, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Heavy-Duty Truck Engine and Transmission StudySM released Sept. 30... The study measures customer satisfaction with engines in two-year-old Class 8 trucks by examining four engine factors: engine quality, engine performance, engine cost of ownership and engine warranty. Mercedes Benz came out well in the performance, cost of ownership and warranty factors. Cummins and Mack engines, respectively, follow Mercedes Benz in the rankings...
