* Security Products - Anything Trucker Announces Marketing Agreement to Sell Truck & Cargo Technology

It never ceases to amaze me how many products claim as one of their benefits improving Driver Retention – everything from new seats, to software that matches drivers to the right driver manager based on personality profiles, to on board recorders.
A 2005 industry study conducted by my company, CostDown Consulting, identified the real 10 ‘Influences’ of Driver Turnover – they do not include comfortable seating or software.
Improving Driver Retention requires a sincere and enormous commitment from a trucking company in many areas including: identifying specific turnover issues (based on those 10 Influences), developing solutions to those issues, providing consistent communication with the drivers, establishing recognition programs and training Driver Managers on retention skills, to name only a few.
