* China - Sinotruk increases exports

Jinan,,China -China Daily, by Wan Zhihong -2 Aug 2008: -- Sinotruk, the country's leading heavy-duty truck manufacturer, plans to sell one-third of its products to overseas markets by 2010... In the first half of this year, the company exported over 6,300 heavy-duty trucks, earning $260 million. The figure has seen 35 percent growth year-on-year... In 2007, the company's export accounted for around 60 percent of China's total export of heavy-duty trucks...


* Japan - Isuzu's Profit Falls on Stronger Yen, Material Costs
Tokyo,Japan -Bloomberg, by Kiyori Ueno -Aug. 4, 2008: -- Isuzu Motors Ltd., Japan's largest maker of light-duty trucks, reported a 16 percent decline in fiscal first-quarter profit after higher material costs and a stronger yen cut earnings... Net income fell to 17.7 billion yen ($164 million) in the three months ended June 30, from 21.2 billion yen a year earlier, the Tokyo-based company said in a statement today. Sales rose 3.2 percent to 415 billion yen... Isuzu, 5.9 percent owned by Toyota Motor Corp., fell 31 yen, or 7 percent, to 410 yen at the 3:00 p.m. close on the Tokyo Stock Exchange before the earnings announcement...
