Strategic Buyers - International Deals
* Bermuda - 5 August: General Maritime Corp. announced the pending acquisition of Arlington Tankers, Ltd., a portfolio company of Wellington Management, Columbia Management Advisors and Kayne Anderson Capital, for $594.7 million. Based in Hamilton, Bermuda, Arlington transports crude oil and refined petroleum products by sea. Arlington had TTM revenue of $70.1 million and TTM EBITDA of $46.8 million.
* China - 6 August: China Shipping Container Lines Co. Ltd. announced the pending acquisition of China Shipping Terminal Development Co., Ltd. ("CSTD") for $379.8 million. Based in Hong Kong, CSTD operates container terminals in the ports of Dalian, Lianyungang and Shanghai, China, and Los Angeles, CA.
* Germany - 7 August: Andreas Schmid Logistik AG has acquired Treffer Transport GmbH. Based in Buchdorf, Germany, Treffer provides freight forwarding services. Terms were not disclosed.
* Vietnam - 8 August: Keppel Logistics Pte., Ltd. announced the pending acquisition of 40% of Indo-Trans Logistics for $1.6 million. Based in Vietnam, Indo-Trans provides international multi-model freight forwarding.
Strategic Buyers - US Domestic Deals
* USA - 11 Ausut: JDA Software Group, Inc. announced the pending acquisition of I2 Technologies, Inc. for approximately $346 million. Based in Dallas, TX, I2 provides supply chain software and management solutions worldwide. I2 had TTM revenue of $257.0 million and TTM EBITDA $45.8 million.
Financial Buyers
* South Africa -5 August: African Renaissance has acquired 20% of Marine Bulk Carriers (Pty) Ltd. and 20% of Marine Crew Services (Pty) Ltd. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Marine Bulk Carriers provides marine transportation services and Marine Crew Services provides crewing and training services for the marine industry. Terms were not disclosed.
