* UPS Orders 200 Hybrid, 300 New CNG Trucks - Company Expanding ‘Green Fleet’ by 200 Electric, 300 CNG Vehicles

Atlanta,GA,USA -Transport Topics -13 May 2008: -- UPS Inc. said Tuesday it has ordered 200 hybrid electric vehicles for its U.S. delivery fleet, which it said was the largest commercial order of such trucks by any company... It also ordered another 300 compressed natural gas trucks. UPS said the 500-vehicle purchase will boost its alternative fuel fleet by 30%, to 2,218 low-carbon vehicles... The chassis for both trucks are being purchased from Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp., while Eaton Corp. will supply the hybrid power system for the HEVs... The truck bodies are identical externally to the brown trucks that now make up the UPS fleet, with markings that identify them as CNG or hybrid vehicles...

Terms were not released. Navigation and VVS Capital, both of which are based in Atlanta, formed James Brown Holdings LP, as part of the transaction...
