* Five trucking companies merge, will base headquarters in western N.C.
Morganton,NC,USA -Morganton.com, by SHARON McBRAYER -May 11, 2008: -- ... Four Truckers in Morganton has united with Furniture Transportation Systems of Pomona, Calif., Milwaukee Delivery Service of Jefferson, Wis., Palmer Transport of Ontario, Calif, Rudisill Transportation of Hickory and Warren Trucking of Martinsville, Va. to form World Wide Logistics... The company will transport furniture to all 50 states, company officials say... Valdese's city Town Manager Jeff Morse, said the town of Valdese is putting together an incentive package to entice the company to locate its headquarters in the town... It would mean 30 new jobs for the area, Morse said. About 20 people also would transfer from other areas to the headquarters, he said... World Wide Logistics is still in negotiations about where the company headquarters will be located. A decision should be made by June 1, he said...
