Truck drivers are being warned they are at risk if they stop at Sutton Scotney service station after a spate of thefts
Winchester,England,UK -This is Hampshire.net/Hampshire News -12 Feb 2008: -- Hampshire Constabulary has taken the unusual step of placing adverts in hauliers' magazines warning truckers they are likely to become victims of crime if they park overnight in the service station off the A34... There were 48 reports of thefts from the service stations on the north and south-bound carriageways of the A34 in 2007 and three since January... Police say many of the incidents involved the theft of diesel from HGVs. On average 300 litres of fuel were stolen... Other items reported stolen from lorries include crates of whisky and brandy, washing machines and go-karts...
