TRUCKING INDUSTRY NEWS * USA - Hours-of-Service ranked top concern amongst US trucking execs

Orlando FL,USA -Truck News (CAN), by James Menzies -21 Oct 2007: -- Hours-of-Service regulations and an ongoing shortage of professional drivers are two of the top 10 concerns for fleet managers in the US... That was the finding of a detailed study conducted by the American Transport Research Institute (ATRI) and released here today as part of the American Trucking Associations annual management convention... The survey was based on responses from more than 5,000 American trucking executives...


* ProStar vs Cascadia, Round 2

Orlando FL,USA -Truck News (CAN), by James Menzies -21 Oct 2007: -- International presented aerodynamic test results this morning which the company says disproves Freightliners recent claim that its Cascadia is more aerodynamic than the International ProStar... Freightliner raised some eyebrows at International headquarters when it issued a release stating independent wind tunnel testing showed the Cascadia tractor demonstrated 7.8% less drag than the ProStar when tested by Auto Research Center at Freightliner’s Portland wind tunnel. International immediately called into question those results, pointing out the testing did not involve a full-sized trailer... This morning at the American Trucking Associations annual management conference, International revealed the results of a recent road test to SAE Type III standards...
