TRUCKERS PROTEST * Jamaica - Windalco truck drivers, against contract termination
Scores of truckers Monday morning blocked a section of the Moneague main road in the vicinity of the Windalco in Schwallenburg, St. AnnJamaica -Radio Jamaica -8 October 2007: -- ... The truckers expressed anger at the management of the bauxite company which has taken away a contract they held for more than 10 years... According to them, the company has decided to use an overseas based company which provides 120 tonner trucks... The tonners are able to transport the same quantity products as four of the trucks now being used... One of the truckers, Stephen Hutchinson, told RJR News the new arrangement will bring about hardship for them...
