Class 8 truck sales * USA - Decline again in Sept., off 44% for year

For the fifth month in a row, sales of Class 8 trucks have fallen by more than half compared to last year

USA -The Trucker -11 Oct 2007: -- According to figures published by Ward’s Automotive, Class 8 sales in September totaled 9,677 trucks in the United States, compared to 23,499 in September 2006, a decline of 58.8 percent... For the year so far, Class 8 sales are off by 44.3 percent, totaling 116,853 trucks through September, compared to 209,938 after nine months in 2006...
