Trucking Association, which is based in Langley, says “This industry has the largest proportion of people aged 55 and older than any other Canadian industry”... Considering that people in that age group are thinking of retirement, if not actively working towards it, there’s some tough sledding ahead... Trucking is competing with many other industries for workers. While construction has been red hot in the Lower Mainland and other parts of B.C., the general economy is doing well and many people are taking jobs where they can sleep in their own beds at night...
