Infrastructure * Canada - Government funding moves into the HOV lane
Oakville,ONT,CAN -Truck News, by Steven Macleod -15 Aug 2007: -- The Ontario government is widening Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) to create High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes, in an effort to ease congestion and get more people carpooling... The provincial government is widening the QEW from six to eight lanes to create an HOV lane in each direction from Third Line to Burloak Drive... HOV lanes are dedicated for buses and vehicles carrying more than one occupant. The lanes provide fast and more reliable travel – particularly during peak travel periods when other lanes can be slow and congested... (Photo by urscreativeimaging.com)
