CONTROLS * USA - Tri-State Troopers Keep Eye On Trucks Tuesday
Six States Participate In 24-Hour Enforcement Blitz
Columbus,OH,USA -wlwt -June 12, 2007: -- Troopers across the Tri-State are giving special attention to truck safety on Tuesday... In a 24-hour special enforcement effort, troopers are watching out for truck drivers who are speeding, driving carelessly or are operating vehicles that are oversize or overweight... Troopers are also checking that drivers are qualified and aren't spending too many hours on the road... The crackdown also is being observed in Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois and Missouri... The Ohio State Highway Patrol said through May of this year, Ohio has seen 62 deaths from crashes involving trucks... Officials said one in five fatal wrecks is the fault of the truck driver...
