* Business logistics costs rise to 9.9 percent of GDP in 2006
Washington,DC,USA -Logistics Management, by John D. Schulz -June 6, 2007: -- The cost of business logistics rose over 11 percent last year to a record $1.305 billion. For the fourth straight year those costs rose as a percentage of Gross Domestic Product as well, reaching 9.9 percent of the United States GDP in 2006... Still, the author of the widely anticipated 18th annual State of Logistics report issued by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals claimed that the nation’s logisticians—perennially asked to manage longer, more complex moves often involving more than one mode—are doing a “very commendable” job...

We took delivery of our first T660 a few months ago to analyze the truck and engine and we’ve had absolutely no problems,” said Foster. “Plus, in working with Kenworth and our engine supplier, we know they are committed – they’ll take care of us if we have any issues. The T660 is fuel efficient and offers a great image for our fleet. And the driver of our first T660 loves the truck. The results and support made us comfortable to move forward with an order for more”...
