Report * USA - Truckload driver turnover increased in third quarter
Alexandria,Va,USA -The Trucker -26 Dec 2006: -- A new American Trucking Associations report says third-quarter 2006 driver turnover increased for the truckload (TL) sector, and that small TL carriers’ driver turnover was more than 100 percent for the last four consecutive quarters, a first since ATA starting logging the data in 1995... Large TL carrier line-haul driver turnover went to 121 percent, up from 110 percent in the second quarter of this year, while small carrier turnover was at 114 percent, compared with 100 percent in the second quarter, the ATA reported. The reason is that as more large carriers exit the long-haul market, small carriers are “filling the gap,” said ATA chief economist Bob Costello...
