Jacksonville,FL,USA- The Business Journal of Jacksonville - Dec 28, 2006: -- Trailer Bridge Inc. is part of a voluntary collaboration between the freight industry and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that aims to increase energy efficiency while reducing greenhouse gases and air pollution... As part of the SmartWay Transport Partnership, Trailer Bridge will measure the environmental performance of its tractors and identify goals to improve it, encourage shippers to consider joining the partnership and help establish a marine category by participating in EPA-sponsored workshops and measuring the environmental performance of its vessels... The SmartWay partnership aims to save up to 150 million barrels of fuel per year and includes freight shippers, trucking companies, railroads, logistics companies and professional associations. Shippers who are part of the partnership have committed to move half of their freight with other members...
