PROGNOSIS * Chica - Truckmaker Volvo's China partner sees jump in overseas sales

Shanghai,China -Reuters -Jan 9, 2007: -- Volvo AB's China partner expects its annual overseas sales to jump five-fold to $1 billion in four years as it aggressively pushes sales beyond its home market, a senior executive said today... China National Heavy-Duty Truck Corp., a major truck maker in the country, had sales of $200 million in 2006 after exporting roughly 6,800 vehicles that year, the executive, who declined to be named... It aimed to move 10,000 vehicles overseas this year, rising to as many as 40,000 by 2010 and taking its overseas turnover to $1 billion, he said... To help fund the expansionary drive, China National, the state parent of CNHTC Jina Truck Co., has been preparing for a share sale in Hong Kong, hopefully in the first half of this year.The executive declined to discuss the details but said that Volvo was a potential strategic investor...
