Plant would be built in southeastern U.S.
Seattle,WA,USA -The Seattle Post Intelligencer, by BILL VIRGIN -9 Jan 2007: -- Paccar Inc. makes heavy-duty trucks under two of the better-known nameplates on American highways -- Kenworth and Peterbilt -- but it hasn't made the engines that go in them... Bellevue-based Paccar announced Tuesday that it plans to build a $400 million engine manufacturing and assembly plant and technology center somewhere in the southeastern United States. Paccar said it is working with several states on a location, but hopes to start construction on the 400,000-square-foot facility by the middle of this year. The plant, which will employ several hundred workers to start, could be ready in 2009...
