Laid Off * USA - 65 employees at Danvile plant
Danville,IL,USA-Urbana/Champaign News-Gazette (Champaign/Urbana,IL) -5 Jan 2006: -- Cleaner engines mean fewer jobs at ThyssenKrupp's machining division in Danville, where 65 employees were laid off Tuesday as a result of more stringent environmental protection standards for heavy-duty trucks... The employees were notified Tuesday at the non-union machining facility at 1303 E. Voorhees St. in Danville. Before the layoffs, the plant employed 230 workers... Company officials warned employees of this possibility as early as August, said Jeff Baker, manager of employee and labor relations...
