"GREEN" NEWS * USA - Seven new transit buses are fueled by cleaner compressed natural gas

Visalia,CAL,USA -The Fresno Bee, by Tim Sheehan (Fresno,CAL) -10 Dec 2006: -- Seven new transit buses rolling on city streets represent the latest step by city leaders to reduce the Valley's chronic air pollution woes... Visalia City Coach is taking delivery of its first batch of full-size transit buses fueled by compressed natural gas, or CNG, considered a cleaner-burning alternative to diesel and gasoline. The buses, loaded with bells and whistles for riders, join a growing number of "green" vehicles in the city's fleet... Jim Bean, the city's solid-waste manager, already operates 11 garbage trucks fueled by compressed natural gas, with three more expected to be delivered in the coming week or so. An additional seven are on order for delivery in May, by which time CNG engines will account for about 40% of his 52-truck fleet...
