"GREEN" NEWS * USA - City to consider reducing emissions from its trucks
STAMFORD,CT,USA -Stamford Advocate, by Vesna Jaksic -Nov 13 2006: -- City officials are recommending an investment of nearly $500,000 over the next three years to upgrade more than 150 heavy trucks and other vehicles to reduce diesel emissions... In June, the Board of Representatives passed a resolution saying it wants cleaner vehicles to help improve air quality in the city and the state. As early as next year, city officials hope to get $160,000 to begin the program by installing filters on 45 heavy trucks and 10 lighter vehicles... Air pollution is a well-documented problem in Connecticut...
