Karjaaa,FIN -Biglorryblog (UK) -11 Nov 2006: --... has long had a soft spot in his heart for the Finnish truck maker Sisu...Why?because despite the presence of its two most powerful next-door-neighbours(i.e. Volvo and Scania) it continues to exist and build trucks that owe more to the North American principal of using top quality proprietry components than the long-established 'vertically integrated' assembly principle where you make everything yourself... Sisu, for example, takes cabs fromRenault, modifies them and puts them on their own chassis but with aCaterpillarorVolvo/Renault engine and anEaton/Fuller gearbox. It does make its own super-strong axles and double-tough frames but that's about it...
