* USA - Crude dip boosts sector; Midwest surges
San Francisco,CAL,USA - MarketWatch, by Shawn Langlois -Nov 10, 2006: -- ExpressJet Holdings and Midwest Air shares led a broad in advance in the airline sector Friday, with a dip in crude oil providing a tailwind... The Amex Airline Index added 2.7% to close at 55.64 points, with every issue in the 10 component gauge pushing into positive territory. ExpressJet Holdings led surged 10.6% to close at $8.96 after the regional carrier said traffic jumped 17% in October... The Dow Jones Wilshire U.S. Airlines, which covers a broader sampling from the sector, gained 2.3% to finish at 1,326 points... The benchmark crude contract fell back toward $60 a barrel. The International Energy Agency earlier trimmed its 2006 global growth forecast, citing lower third-quarter demand from China and the OECD Pacific countries... Also in the spotlight, bankrupt Delta Air Lines showed continued signs of revival, up 5.6% to end at $1.32. On Thursday, the No. 3 U.S. carrier said it swung to a third-quarter profit on gains relating to its reorganization...
