Unions push for more representation
UK -ITF Press Release/Transport Intelligence -9 Nov 2006: -- Unions are to push to extend union rights and membership at the world's big four integrator companies – DHL, Fedex, UPS and TNT – as part of a special day on 9 November... On November 9th they will seek to build on existing relationships with the companies, to extend membership or, if necessary, confront those proving hostile to workers joining a union... ITF General Secretary David Cockroft commented: "Integrator companies move goods globally using everything from vans to ships to aircraft, and employ people across national boundaries and across transport sectors. If those workers are to enjoy decent jobs, wages and conditions then the unions they make up must also plan globally. That awareness is at the core of this event and the ITF and UNI's integrators' campaign."...
