Cuts - USA - Navistar plans layoffs
Charlotte,NC,USA -Dayton Business Journal -2 Nov 2006: -- Forty-three employees may be laid off in January at International Truck and Engine's truck service center in Springfield... Last week the company issued a WARN notice, or a Worker Adjustment Retraining Notification which is required by the state 60 days in advance of mass layoffs. Navistar International Corp., the parent company of International, said the anticipated layoffs have to do with a projected decline in 2007 truck orders because of new emissions standards... Roy Wiley, a spokesman for Navistar, said that until the orders come in, it will not be clear exactly how many positions will be cut, though the maximum is 43. The layoffs will be effective Jan. 2...
