Drought - Australia - To take toll on transport firms
Australia -ABC Online -Nov 1, 2006: -- The transport industry says trucking companies will suffer major losses due to the drought... The South Australian Road Transport Association says with some silos not opening this season, trucks are travelling to different areas to deliver grain and there are problems getting permits for certain roads... Executive director Steve Shearer says with less grain being harvested, there will be less work for truck operators and some will not be able to cover their costs...
