Weight Limit - USA - Trucks breaking road, culvert
CROWN POINT,IN,USA -The nwitimes (Munster,IN) -September 3, 2006: -- Day after day, semitrucks used 129th Street as a shortcut, but city officials say they were too big for the 20-foot-wide street... That means that as they turn onto the street, they are running over residents' lawns, damaging grass, crushing a culvert and breaking pavement... With that in mind, the Crown Point Board of Works has put a 12-ton weight limit on the road between Iowa Street and U.S. 231. The weight limit would require heavier trucks to use the wider, sturdier Iowa Street... The limit does not affect all truck traffic, mainly semis...
