Etheridge demonstrates biofuel's future
Rocky Mount,NC,USA -The Rocky Mount Telegram -August 23, 2006: -- U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge carries in his pocket a small bottle of what he hopes will be Eastern North Carolina's future... It's a transparent liquid, perfectly safe for drinking, that can help fuel modified diesel vehicles. Best of all, the components for the oil can be grown, year after year after year, in the Twin Counties' countryside... Etheridge co-sponsored a resolution earlier this year calling for a seven-year plan to increase the use of ethanol. The resolution includes tax cuts for farmers who produce the components of biofuels... Already, he said, alternative fuels have made a big impact in Minnesota, where 10 percent of the energy spent comes from sources such as biofuels, windmills and other sources. In Brazil, a whopping 80 percent of the energy used comes from alternative sources...
