New Engine - Sweden - Volvo launches new, cleaner truck in Europe
STOCKHOLM,Sweden -Reuters -Feb 1, 2006: -- The world's number two truck maker Volvo said, it was launching a new version of its flagship FH16 truck model in Europe, fitted with a cleaner engine to meet future environmental regulations... "Most of the investment of 300 million Swedish crowns ($39.3 million) has been on the cleaner, 16 liter engine," the firm said in a statement... Volvo said the up to 660 horse power engine made the new vehicle the most powerful truck in the industry... Its engine was designed to meet Euro 4 and Euro 5 exhaust emission rules being introduced in Europe over the coming years...
