USA - The Car Connection -19 Sept 2005 :-) So far, there's more anecdotal evidence than hard data showing a shift in U.S. buying patterns due to fast-rising fuel prices, said Chrysler Group's Joe Eberhardt. But the head of the automaker's global marketing operations is fairly certain change is in the works. That doesn't mean buyers are ready to trade in Jeep Grand Cherokees for Neons, or stop buying HEMI V-8s, he cautioned. "People still want performance," Eberhardt told, "but they want it guilt free." .. That actually helps the HEMI, with its Multi-Displacement System, or MDS, which shuts down half the engine's cylinders when power demands are low...
