Contracts - Canada - CAW Settles With Ford
USA - The Car Connection -19 Sept 2005: -- The Canadian Auto Workers union is turning it attention to DaimlerChrysler in the wake of the ratification of a new contract with Ford of Canada... The CAW said better than 95 percent of Ford workers across Canada had voted in favor of the new contract, which includes both a modest pay increase and pension improvements but gives Ford room to cut 1100 jobs... said that other companies could learn a lesson from how the CAW and Ford dealt with the restructuring issue.
