Prices - USA - Trickle Down Effect
As many cringe at the sight of the price of gasoline, some who require it for their livelihood say if the prices don't go down it could spell trouble.
Ghent,WV,USA -WVNS-TV, by Stacy Rich -8/20/2005: --- Trucking companies across the country are feeling the gas price pinch... Most tractor trailers have at least a 200 gallon tank, and those cost hundreds of dollars to fill every day. Larry Weaver is with Rhett Butler Trucking Company out of Alabama, and he says if gas prices keep creeping up, trucking companies won't be able to survive... Trucks get an average of 550 to 800 miles per tank. Gas prices in this area are now reaching $2.60 a gallon, with no indication that the rise will stop soon. Weaver says it also makes it impossible for a trucker to travel without a paid load...
