* Virginia - Truck parking listed by drivers in ATRI survey as second-largest issue
-- The American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) said it collected more than 800 driver surveys on the topic of truck parking at last month’s Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) in Louisville, Ky... ATRI’s latest survey cross-references driver perceptions of truck parking availability with the viability of truck parking reservation systems and exactly how truck drivers put a “value” on truck parking availability... This latest ATRI data collection initiative was driven by the selection of truck parking as one of the top priority research topics for 2015 by ATRI’s Research Advisory Committee (RAC)... In addition, truck parking continues to rank high in ATRI’s annual Top Industry Issues Survey. In last year’s survey, for instance, truck parking ranked sixth overall, but among truck drivers in the MATS survey late last month, truck parking ranked second, eclipsed only by the challenges associated with the hours of service regulations...
