* Germany - Mercedes-Benz outlines a luxury pickup for Europe, South America
-- German auto maker Daimler AG’s Mercedes-Benz intends to enter the global market for midsize haulers... Daimler plans to build the truck in cooperation with Nissan Motor Co. ... The talks, which are at an advanced stage, involve using the basic architecture of Nissan’s Navara pickup truck for the new vehicle and producing it in Nissan factories, the people said... Mercedes-Benz declined to disclose any details of production plans, a specific launch date or pricing, but said it is making preparations to produce the vehicle “in large numbers” in various regions of the world within the next five years... The cab sports two rows of seats, easily fitting a family of four or a builder’s crew, and will contain many of the same interior components and features typical of Mercedes-Benz’s cars and vans. There will be a luxury version with leather interior and chrome furnishings. And there will be a more robust version with a washable interior for the workhorse... Mercedes-Benz hasn’t decided yet whether to take its coming pickup onto U.S. roads, where the midsize market...

* Michigan/USA - Ram Truck unveils Texas Ranger concept pickup
-- The Fiat Chrysler Automobiles truck brand unveiled a Texas Ranger concept at the 2015 Dallas Auto Show. The vehicle prominently features the iconic silver Lone Star Ranger badge... The exterior of the pickup features large five-pointed milled-aluminum emblems mounted to front driver and passenger-side fenders. A third milled-aluminum Texas Ranger badge adorns the concept truck’s tailgate. Each of the four polished-aluminum 20-inch wheels also gets a milled-aluminum Texas Ranger center cap... The pickup is painted in a Bright White and Bright Silver Metallic two-tone color scheme that embodies the white hats and silver badges that the good guys always wear... The interior also features a number of unique features, including a milled-aluminum Texas Ranger instrument panel badge, noting the founding year of the Texas Rangers, 1823; Texas Ranger sewn-on and etched leather seat badges; and other features...
