Yankalilla,South Australia -The Times -Nov. 5, 2014: -- Western Fleurieu road safety is set to be improved with a new truck accreditation program rolled out across the region. The District Council of Yankalilla is the first council in Australia to sign up to 'TruckSafe'; a nationwide accreditation program for the trucking industry designed to ensure truck fleets adhere to its set of safety standards... The council's road network encompasses a number of key trucking routes, including the main freight route to Kangaroo Island... Yankalilla council operations manager Warren Kaeding said TruckSafe covers aspects that other accreditation programs don't, including driver health, training, maintenance and management... Mr Kaeding is also working toward having a local training route passed, so drivers can better understand Yankalilla council area's road conditions, a local training route would work hand in hand with the TruckSafe program, he said...
