Albany,NY,USA -The Times Union, by Rick Karlin -August 9, 2013: -- The Cuomo administration on Friday rolled out a $19 million federally funded incentive program aimed at getting more clean trucks on the road in the state's high-pollution areas, including the Capital Region... The Truck Voucher Incentive Program is designed to spark discounts from makers of hybrid, compressed natural gas and "clean diesel" trucks. The discounts can apply to a wide range of vehicles, from large pickups to semi-tractors, dump trucks and cement trucks... Gov. Andrew Cuomo called the plan, which will be administered by the state Energy Research and Development Authority, "another important step that New York State is taking to meet clean air standards" ... NYSERDA estimates the program could fund the purchase or retrofitting of 1,000 trucks...
