* Wisconsin - Oshkosh Truck will supply more MRAP armor

Oshkosh,WIS,USA -Defense Systems -Aug 7, 2013: -- Armored vehicle maker Oshkosh Corp. will supply the U.S. Army with additional armor for the all-terrain version of the mine resistant ambush protected (MRAP) vehicle under terms of a $14.5 million contract awarded on Aug. 6... The Wisconsin truck maker has served as the Army’s sole source for off-road MRAPs, or M-ATVs, since 2009. The firm, fixed price contract calls for supplying “A-kits,” or extra armor, for M-ATVs. Oshkosh was the sole bidder for the contract, the Army said... Most of the estimated 4,500 M-ATVs built so far by Oshkosh were deployed in Afghanistan...

* Michigan - GM to retain Colorado, Canyon names for coming small trucks

Traverse City,MICH,USA -The WSJ, by Jeff Bennett -August 8, 2013: -- General Motors Co. confirmed on Thursday it will continue using the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon nameplates for a coming pair of small pickup trucks when it rolls out the vehicles late next year... The Colorado will be positioned as a sport-pickup truck while the Canyon will aim more toward professionals, GM Chief Financial Officer, Dan Ammann, said on the sidelines of an annual conference here... The pickups are part of a strategy by GM to offer a broader portfolio of trucks beyond the traditional full-size Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks...
