A class action lawsuit filed against Navistar International Corp. by a group of shareholders alleges that the OEM essentially lied to investors about its efforts to achieve compliance with EPA 2010 diesel-engine emissions rules... The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on behalf of purchasers of common stock of Navistar International Corp. during the period between Nov. 3, 2010, and Aug. 1, 2012, inclusive...


* Illinois - Navistar re-launches vocational models with Cummins power

Warrensville,ILL,USA -Fleet Owner -Apr. 11, 2013: -- Truck maker Navistar re-launched its “classic” International 9900i tractor and PayStar 5900 SBA vocational models this week featuring the Cummins ISX15 engine equipped with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology to make it compliant with heavy-truck emission regulations... Offered with ratings from 400 to 600 hp with 1,450 to 2050 lb.-ft worth of torque, Navistar said the Cummins ISX15 will be the only engine available for the 9900i, while the PayStar 5900 can be spec’d with either the ISX15 or the OEM’s own MaxxForce 13 SCR-equipped engine... Navistar noted that production of both vehicles began earlier this month, some four months after the first International ProStar highway tractor equipped with the Cummins ISX15 with SCR rolled off the assembly line...


* Germany - MAN faces prolonged weak truck market -paper

Frankfurt,Germany -Reuters, by Jonathan Gould and David Holmes -April 10, 2013: -- Truckmaker MAN SE continues to be "in a difficult situation," the head of its commercial vehicles division Anders Nielsen was quoted saying by daily Handelsblatt... The newspaper said Nielsen indicated that shortened working hours may be needed at MAN's plants in Munich and Salzgitter in the remainder of the year, after the company already implemented stoppages in the first quarter... Around 6,000 staff had already seen shortened working hours in the first three months of the year... MAN, controlled by Volkswagen AG, said in February it expected truck markets to rebound significantly next year, though it was braced for a sales decline to continue through 2013...
