* UK - Van market rises, but trucks slip back

London,EN,UK -Irish Trucker News -9 April 2013: -- Van registrations are up 11.7 per cent for the first three months of the year, according to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. However, the truck market has slowed with registrations down 17.7 per cent to 10,060 for the year to date... The market for artics held up better than for rigids. Registrations of artics was down seven per cent to 3,482, while the market for rigids was down 21 per cent to 6,578. Iveco was the only on of the major manufacturers to increase registrations in the first three months with a one per cent increase... DAF maintained market leadership with a 27 per cent share of the truck market, followed by Scania with 14.5 per cent and Mercedes with 14.2 per cent. In the van market, Ford was market leader with 25.6 per cent followed by Volkswagen with 13 per cent...
