* UK - Ryder purchases Euroway

Leighton Buzzard,Bedfordshire,EN,UK -Commercial Motor, by Justin Stanton -2 August 2012: -- Ryder Europe has purchased commercial vehicle contract hire and fleet management specialist Euroway for an undisclosed sum... Euroway is based in Leighton Buzzard and has a total fleet of 1,419 CVs, ranging from 3.5-tonners to tractor units, plus trailers. In 2010, its combined divisions generated a combined turnover of about £22m and a pre-tax loss of circa £730,000, and the acquisition means Ryder’s fleet totals nearly 25,000. Euroway recently announced that it had secured an exclusive two-year contract hire deal with Domino’s Pizza Group...


* UK - Roadways adds Mercedes-Benz New Actros, Scania R-Series and Volvos to fleet

Hainault,Essex,UK -Commercial Motor, by Christopher Walton -30 July 2012: -- Roadways Container Logistics is to take delivery of 50 new vehicles after it returned to profit in 2011... The order comprises 15 Mercedes-Benz New Actros, 10 Scania R-Series and 25 Volvo tractor units. It will also take delivery of 100 Dennison EF25SKA sliding skeletal trailers... For the year ended 31 December 2011, Roadways achieved a pre-tax profit of £319,000...

Mayflower Close,Chandlers Ford,UK -Transport Engineer -2 Aug 2012: -- Churchesfire has revealed that a major factor in its decision to switch its van fleet to Mercedes-Benz was the round-the-clock servicing capability of the vehicle manufacturer's dealers... Pentagon Commercials has supplied Churchesfire with 10 Euro 5-powered Long-bodied Mercedes-Benz Vito 113CDI vans this summer. The south coast dealer won the order in the face of  unlike Mercedes-Benz dealers, who sell and maintain trucks as well as vans, neither could offer a dedicated commercial vehicle service...
