* California - Via Answers Verizon’s Call For Electric Trucks

Cupertino,CA,USA -Earl Techling, by Nicholas Brown -March 13, 2012: -- Verizon is jumping on the Via Motors bandwagon. Mind you, the maker of burly electric extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) for heavy-duty work has a modest-sized bandwagon, consisting of Pacific Gas and Electric. The California power utility partnered with Via way back in 2008 to develop EREVs and already owns two of the trucks, which provide mobile, onsite power to help manage electrical outages...  It calls for the two companies to work together on the development and demonstrate of Verizon vehicles using Via’s technology, with an eye toward possible wider deployment in Verizon’s vehicle fleet...


* Washington - Paccar CEO's compensation rose 53% in 2011

Bellevue,WA,USA -Marketwatch, by Bob Tita- March 14, 2012: -- Paccar Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive, Mark Pigott's total compensation last year rose 53% as a result of a large award of restricted stock that was issued in part for his leadership of the commercial truck manufacturer during the recession... Pigott's base salary, incentive pay, executive perquisites and equity-based awards totaled $9.2 million last year, up from $6.02 million in 2010, according to a regulatory filing Wednesday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission... The cash portion of Pigott compensation, which includes his salary, incentive pay and perks, increased 7.4% to $4.55 million. Pigott received stock and options worth $4.65 million on the day they were granted. Included in this was 61,846 shares restricted stock worth $3.12 million...
