* Electric Delivery Trucks Hit the Streets of Japan

Chiyoda Ward,Tokyo,Japan -Green Economy -6 March 2012: -- Automotive research and development company Tokyo R and D, is demonstrating its commitment to electric vehicles. Practical tests of electric delivery trucks are starting this week in Tsukuba City... The project started with a number of partners - ITOCHU, Tokyo's Institute of Applied Sciences, Supermarket giant Kasumi, are also still on board... All the trucks used in the practical evaluation have been modified from traditional gas-powered vehicles to pure electric, using special conversion kits (which yes, you can buy for your own truck); the evaluation will be testing the feasibility of the kits just as much as it tests how well EVs work in the delivery business...
