* Sweden - Volvo's Q4 profit rockets

Stockholm,Sweden -AP/CBS Money Watch -February 3, 2012: -- Swedish truck maker AB Volvo recorded a 46 percent rise in fourth-quarter profits after a surge in sales it described as the best it has seen in more than two decades... Revenues, which were mainly driven by strong sales in its key truck unit, rose in all regions and rocketed to 86.5 billion kronor in the quarter, an 18 percent rise from the previous year... CEO Olof Persson added that Volvo's truck brands increased their market share on the European market to a combined 26 percent... Since it parted from the car division, Volvo has grown into one of the world's biggest truck makers, with brands including Volvo, Mack, Renault and UD trucks. It also makes buses, engines and construction equipment. Milan,Italy -Bloomberg Business Week -1 Feb 2012: -- Fiat Industrial, the Italian maker of trucks, farm and construction vehicles, has reported a 15-percent drop in fourth-quarter profits due to weak results in its agriculture and construction business... Fiat Industrial comprises CNH farm and construction vehicles, Iveco trucks and related powertrain businesses... For the year, Fiat Industrial reported an 83 percent increase in net profit to euro624 million from euro341 million... Full-year revenues were up 14 percent to euro24 billion from euro21 billion a year earlier on improved sales of agriculture equipment, higher truck deliveries in Latin America and some European markets and higher powertrain sales...Labels: truckmakers news worldwide
