An Avilla manufacturer has solidified its claim to the Phoenix name

Avilla,IND,USA -The Journal Gazette, by Sherry Slater -September 30, 2011: -- Indiana Phoenix Inc., which arose from the ashes of Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2005, is investing more than $1 million in an expansion expected to create about 40 jobs over four years... Indiana Phoenix specializes in reusing the engine, transmission and other durable parts from cement mixers and putting them on a new frame with new wiring, plumbing, cab and mixer barrel... The cement-mixer maker plans to break ground in October on an 18,000-square-foot addition to its 60,000-square-foot building at 200 Dekko Drive. Construction of the $753,000 addition is expected to be completed by the end of the year, general manager Joe Elkins said. The company also will invest about $346,000 in equipment... The privately owned manufacturer also has a contract with Navistar International Corp. to build new mixer trucks sold under the Continental Mixers brand and makes 40-foot-long vacuum trailers used to transport oil...


* California - DPF retrofit system receives expanded verification by EPA, CARB

Purifilter Plus, which reduces emissions of diesel particulate matter by more than 85% and meets 2009 nitrogen dioxide emissions limits, combines a passively regenerating ECS Purifilter DPF with the active regeneration components of an ECS Combifilter, resulting in a hybrid DPF which has no minimum exhaust temperature requirement —making it efficient under even the most challenging vehicle operating conditions, according to a company announcement...
