* USA - Cummins to Sell Light-Duty Filtration Business

Findlay,OH,USA -Transport Topics -9 Sept 2011: -- Truck engine manufacturer Cummins Inc. announced Thursday that it has agreed to sell its light-duty filtration operations to an equity investment firm, Industrial Opportunity Partners... Cummins said the sale affects its Kuss Filtration business in Findlay, Ohio, its filtration business at Bloomer, Wis., and Kuss operations in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Shanghai, China. These facilities produce light-duty filtration products, including in-tank fuel filters, for smaller gasoline engines, Cummins said...


* Canada - Raydan introduces 84,000-lb Air Link suspension

Edmonton,ALB,CAN -Truck News -Sep 9, 2011: -- Raydan Manufacturing has added an 84,000-lb rated Air Link suspension for tandem drive applications to its lineup... The company says its newest offering is not only the highest capacity ever for an Air Link suspension, but it also incorporates all the latest technologies developed by Raydan through its previous projects. The 84,000-lb Air Link was designed for Navistar Defense for use in heavy-haul tractors in the US Navy. The company says it's excited to now be offering the heavy-duty suspension to customers by special order... Raydan has been designing and building suspensions since early 2000 when it was approached by fire apparatus manufacturers looking for robust 58,000- and 60,000-lb suspensions...


* USA - Bendix intros new remanufacturing biz

Elyria,OH,USA -Truck News (CAN) -8 Sept 2011: -- Bendix has introduced a new business unit solely focused on remanufacturing... Officials say the new Bendix unit consolidates the company's remanufacturing efforts and will expand the company's aftermarket business in North America and worldwide... By salvaging key components of returned products and reassembling them with other salvaged and new components, Bendix officials say they will be able to provide remanufactured products which meet OE specifications. The company says Bendix's engineers in the new business unit can also now use components originally manufactured by other brands to bring remanufactured parts as close as possible to their OE specifications...


* Japan - Nissan to launch smaller, cheaper EV charger


Tokyo,Japan -Kyodo News -12 Sept 2011: -- Nissan Motor Co. demonstrates a smaller, cheaper quick electric vehicle charger with its Leaf electric car in Tokyo on Sept. 12, 2011...   The automaker said it will launch the charger in Japan in November...
