* Sweden - Volvo Truck doubles Dynafleet sales

Sweden -Fleet Europe, by Michel Buckinx -4 Sept 2011: -- Volvo Truck has announced that the sales of the on-line Dynafleet fleet management system have doubled in a year and a half. More than one Volvo truck in three sold in Europe are now equipped with the system. In certain markets such as France, Denmark and Finland, more than 60% of new vehicles use this system. According to Volvo Truck, transporters are very aware that system can bring them substantial fuel savings...


* Brazil - Paccar to build new DAF assembly plant in

Bellevue,WASH,USA -Fleet Europe, by Michel Buckinx -4 Sept 2011: -- Paccar has announced that it is to construct a new DAF assembly plant at Ponta Grossa in Brazil, on a 200 hectare site. The investment value is 200 million dollars. The factory will extend to 31,000 m² and is scheduled to be operational in 2013. It will build the DAF LF, CF and XF models, destined for the rapidly growing Brazilian market. In time the factory will employ 500 persons and will doubtless have a beneficial knock-on effect on certain local suppliers...
