* Germany - Kässbohrer at the IAA: From history to innovation
Hanover,Germany -TruckEurope -29 Sept 2010: -- ‘Since 1893… We are here !’ This is the slogan of German trailer manufacturer Kässbohrer at the IAA show in Hanover. The stand retraces the more than 100-year old history of the manufacturer and demonstrates its constant sense of innovation. On the stand are also to be found three semi-trailers displaying the latest in current technology and another from sister company Talson. The four semi-trailers are: a 60 m3 SSK60 silo, an extendable lowered 4-axle semi-trailer, a 30 m3 STC EU tanker and a Talson Mega Air Cargo...
* Manchester/UK - Cartwright secures over 200 orders for Cheetah Fastback
Manchester,UK -Road Transport, by Kevin Swallow -1 October 2010: -- Body and trailer builder Cartwright Group says it has secured more than 200 orders from eight new and existing customers, in the three months since it launched the Cheetah Fastback trailer... Using air suspension to raise and lower a wedge-shaped chassis and an angled rear roof to reduce drag, the Cheetah Fastback achieved a 10% fuel saving in independent track tests... According to director Steven Cartwright, it has helped that operators are more likely to replace trailers on the fleet than rigids, "as ordering a rigid body and chassis cab costs more to replace than a trailer"... Although the first two trailers that went into service in Holland were 4.0m trailers, some UK-based customers have reverted to 4.2m specifications...
