Stockholm,Sweden -ATN (Australia), by Gary Worrall -April 19, 2010: -- Sweden may have a reputation for producing safe cars and best selling pop records, but it is fast acquiring the reputation as the powerhouse of world trucking... Scania has gone one better by unveiling its new R730. It is an R-Series prime mover with a 730 horsepower 16-litre V8 and Euro 5 certification... The truck has 3500Nm of torque between 1000 and 1350rpm... Scania has yet to advertise which segments the R730 will target, but do not be surprised to see it pulling logging trailers or perhaps mine trailers... Along with the new R730, Scania has confirmed the full range of power ratings for the 16-litre V8 in both Euro 5 and EEV configuration... Scania Australia has yet to confirm if the R730 will arrive down under...
