* Germany - VW labor leader criticizes head of truck unit
Frankfurt,Germany -Reuters, by Eva Kuehnen -Jan 10, 2010: -- Chances for Stephan Schaller, head of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, to run a three-way truck merger are rapidly deteriorating following remarks by a one of Volkswagen's supervisory board members... Bernd Osterloh, Volkswagen's powerful labor leader and key ally of VW Chairman Ferdinand Piech, openly criticized Schaller in an interview with German newspaper Weser-Kurier for not aggressively enough expanding VW's commercial vehicles segment... MAN already has a 17.4 percent voting stake in Scania after an abortive takeover bid it launched in 2006 that drove Scania into the arms of Volkswagen, which now has a voting stake of around 71 percent...

Power and Associates 2009 Medium-Duty Truck Engine and Transmission Customer Satisfaction Study... The study measures customer perceptions of 2007 model-year Class 5, 6 and 7 gasoline and diesel engines. Four factors are measured to determine overall engine satisfaction. In order of importance, they are: engine warranty; engine quality; engine performance; and cost of engine ownership...
