* UK - AWARD: Most reliable van
London,UK -HGV UK -November 9, 2009: -- Exclusive research by leading industry title Fleet News has revealed that the Ford Transit is the UK’s the most reliable van... The research, making it the largest vehicle reliability survey in the country, quizzed companies involved in the contract hire and leasing sector and asked them to rate each vehicle they have on their fleet... In total, the reliability survey covered 183,000 light commercial vehicles. Tables of the top five most reliable vans are listed below, as are tables for the most reliable van manufacturers... * France - Electric Kangoo van
Maubeuge,Grévaux-les-Guides,France -HGV UK -November 10, 2009: -- Renault has now announced that it will manufacture its future electric, zero-emission Kangoo Van at M.C.A. (Maubeuge Construction Automobile), in northern France, starting in the first half of 2011... A specialist LCV (light commercial vehicle) plant for twenty years, Maubeuge currently produces Kangoo, Kangoo Van and Kangoo be bop, and is able to continuously adapt to demand and the diverse nature of these types of vehicle (for example, short and long wheelbase versions, or those with and without side windows and tailgates)... Last week, Renault announced further details on several of its other future electric vehicles, including the news that the Group planned to take part in a French joint venture for research into the production and recycling of batteries for electric vehicles... A spokesman for Volvo Trucks UK adds: "We feel the automated manual transmission is the way forwards, because it helps to improve fuel economy and it's flexible enough to be used as an automatic or manual, depending on conditions."..
